Remember, the Farmington Regional Animal Shelter will host the Bark in the Park and Doggie Dash on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Animas Park.

If you are seeking a companion, there will be an adoptable pet parade. Lots of dog-related games, vendors, puppy yoga and other activities. Meet Peanut, a cheerful, energetic, tail-wagging, wiggly bundle of canine love looking for a forever home after a stay at the Farmington Regional Animal Shelter. Peanut came to the shelter as a stray, but you’d never guess it by how loving and gentle he is.

This sweet boy is almost 2 years old and weighs under 25 pounds, making him the perfect size for just about any home. The shelter reports that Peanut has a calm, affectionate personality and truly enjoys being around people. Whether it’s going for a walk, relaxing by your side, or just soaking up attention, he’s happiest when he’s close to his humans.

His kind, gentle nature makes him easy to love and a great fit for someone looking for a loyal companion. While he still may gain a few pounds, this mixed breed is close to full-grown. He gets along well with everyone, including people, children and other dogs. After finding himself on his own, Peanut is more than ready to leave his stray days behind and start his next chapter with an individual or a family who will love and cherish him.
