FARMINGTON – An impressive list of more than two dozen student-athletes representing area and local football teams were named to all-state rosters this week by the New Mexico High School Coaches Association.

Bloomfield, which came up a game short of being able to play for the Class 4A state title last month, leads the local contingent with 14 football players named to respective rosters by the NMHSCA, which released the rosters through their website.

Players earn spots on the all-state rosters through voting by football coaches across the state of New Mexico.

The Bobcats finished the most recent season with a record of 11-1, but the season came to an end on the road in the Class 4A semifinals at Portales, halting a 17-game win streak dating back to the 2022-23 season which saw the team win the state title against Silver.

Named to the Class 4A first team all-state roster from Bloomfield were defensive lineman Robert Williams, as well as inside linebacker Logan Gosnell, and a pair of offensive linemen, Naiki Tso and Abraham Santana.

In addition, wide receiver Drew Perez and running back Jesse Seitzinger also earned first team all-state honors from Bloomfield High School.

“I’m glad the coaches around the state have recognized the hard work these guys do on the field which produced some great goals and achievements for themselves and their teams,” said Bloomfield head coach Mike Kovacs.

Farmington High School linebacker was one of three chosen to the Class 5A all-state teams. Fishburn earned first team status as one of the anchors of the Scorpion defense, recording 46 tackles and 1 1/2 sacks on the season.

Aztec’s Baylor Seabolt made the all-state roster twice for his efforts this past season. In addition to being named to the Class 4A all-state roster as a running back, Seabolt also earned second-team honors for his defensive efforts.

As a running back, Seabolt ran for 1247 yards and scored 15 touchdown. Seabolt was also a solid contributor on the other side of the ball, recording 126 tackles, five sacks and three interceptions.
