The 26th annual Alien Run mountain bike race is coming up on May 2 in Aztec, providing opportunities for beginner, amateur and expert bikers to test their skills and speed.
The event will take place at the Alien Run Mountain Bike trail in Aztec, with the experts starting at 8 a.m. and the rest of the categories following at 8:10 a.m.
The beginner course is 11 miles long. The sport course is 16 miles while expert course is just under 26 miles. All three utilize the Alien trail, but the sport riders will also pedal the Outer Limits while expert riders will venture into Area 51.
Last year, Samuel Morrison (1 hour, 55 minutes, 28 seconds) and Diedre Morrison (2:08:13) won the expert titles.
Registration starts at $45 to race, but the event is free to watch.
People can register the day-of the race, with the cutoff 15 minutes before the races start.
