FARMINGTON – The New Mexico Activities Association begins handing out state titles this week in a number of winter sports, including wrestling as well as swimming and diving during championship meets.

The state wrestling championships open Friday at the Rio Rancho Events Center while the Albuquerque Academy Natatorium will host the state’s swimming and diving championships.

Meantime, powerlifting season continues with a trio of events across San Juan County this week.

And the prep basketball season heads into the homestretch with the final week of district season in play as teams across the state make a final push for the postseason.
