JERUSALEM – President Donald Trump has expressed some frustration with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ahead of their White House meeting Tuesday. It will be their first meeting since they launched a joint war against Iran. It’s a chance for Netanyahu to smooth out strains in their relationship. In a Fox News interview, Trump complained about reports that the Israeli leader plans to discuss intelligence on Iran and suggested that Netanyahu is doing it to pressure Trump to stay committed to the war. Netanyahu is up for reelection and is embattled in part because of his deteriorating relationship with the president. Trump is under pressure to end an unpopular war that has wreaked economic havoc ahead of U.S. elections in November.
Newly released audio tapes appear to show Joe Biden sharing classified information with a biographer and sometimes claiming memory lapses during interviews that occurred before his election to the presidency in 2020. About three hours of audio and 117 pages of transcripts were released by the conservative Oversight Project, an arm of the Heritage Foundation. The audio and transcript feature frequent redactions. The conversations were released after Biden lost a prolonged legal fight to keep his talks with memoir ghostwriter Mark Lewis Zwonitzer private. In the sessions, Biden discusses a range of matters, shares notes from his vice presidency and appears to confirm to Zwonitzer that he retained some classified material.
ST. JOSEPH, Missouri – Authorities in Loudoun County, Virginia, have arrested the son of Chiefs assistant coach Eric Bieniemy and charged him in the shooting of his mother. Elijah Zion Bieniemy was booked into the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on Monday. Deputies responded to a shooting in Ashburn, Virginia, late Sunday. They found 57-year-old Mia Bieniemy with multiple gunshot wounds. She was taken to a hospital and was in stable condition. The 27-year-old Elijah Bieniemy faces charges including malicious wounding and use of a firearm in a felony. He is being held without bond. The Chiefs have acknowledged the incident, offering thoughts and prayers for the family.
