Riverfest is returning to Farmington’s Berg and Animas parks this week for three days of fun in the sun over Memorial Day weekend.
The festival kicks off at 5 p.m. Friday with live entertainment until 8 p.m., including the Farmington High School Marching band, 3 Views of a Secret and Baracutanga. Over 20 bands are scheduled to perform over the weekend.
Activities taking place during the event between Saturday and Sunday include a 10k race, a Weiner dog race, a duck race, raft trips down the Animas River, roverfest (for the dogs), children’s activities and a car show.
In addition to the musicians, Gourd and Apache dancers, as well as a recycled fashion show, will entertain the community.
There will also be arts & crafts vendors, food vendors, beer and wine gardens and non-food vendors located along the river trails between Berg and Animas Parks.
The family-friendly, admission free, annual event is organized by the River Reach Foundation.
