San Juan College is marking Community College Month this April by highlighting the significance of community colleges nationwide.

These institutions expand access to affordable, high-quality education and prepare students for in-demand careers and advanced degrees.

With open admissions policies and supportive services such as food assistance, housing resources and child care support, community colleges help remove barriers and create opportunities for students from all backgrounds.

San Juan College offers more than 140 two-year degree and certificate programs. About 83% of full-time students have graduated, transferred or are continuing their education.

“Everywhere I go, I am told by students that choosing to go to a community college is one of the best decisions they ever made,” said Jee Hang Lee, president and CEO of ACCT. “Many students don’t realize the impact until they experience the opportunities their community college provides and the dedication of the instructors who support them along the way.”

Throughout April, the college will celebrate Community College Month on social media using the hashtag #CCMonth and highlighting student success stories and the impact the college has had on their educational journeys.

Current and former students are encouraged to share their experiences using the hashtag #BestDecisionEver.
