Farmington High School received $10,000 from the Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy after teacher Rochelle Hastings was named the 2026 Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy West Region Teacher of the Year during a surprise pep rally April 10.
Hastings received a gift package valued at more than $1,000, and the school was awarded a $10,000 grant to continue developing future student leaders.
“We are so proud to celebrate educators like Rochelle who inspire, lead, and make a lasting difference every single day,” the company said in a Facebook post.
According to the district, Hastings serves as the work experience and work-based learning teacher.
“Her impact reaches far beyond the classroom,” the district said. “Every day, she helps students discover their potential, build confidence, and grow into leaders who are ready to make a difference in their school and community.”
Hastings works with organizations such as Business Professionals of America, Student Senate and Family, Career and Community Leaders of America to give students more opportunities to practice leadership, teamwork and responsibility.
Under her guidance, students are learning career skills and the importance of giving back, the district said.
“We are incredibly proud of Ms. Hastings and grateful for the way she models kindness, service, and strong leadership for our students every day,” the district said. “Our heartfelt thank-you to Chick-fil-A for awarding Farmington High School $10,000. This generous gift will help our school expand opportunities for students to grow as leaders and continue making a difference in our communities.”
