Easter is on Sunday, and the City of Farmington has a couple events planned to help people celebrate the holiday.
San Juan County’s largest egg hunt is leveling up and moving to a new location this year: the Farmington Recreation Center.
Gates for the Easter Eggstravaganza will open at 9 a.m. with a festival atmosphere featuring local food vendors, carnival-style games and interactive activities.
The main event – the legendary Egg Scramble – will kick off promptly at 10:30 a.m. Families are encouraged to arrive early, as the scramble starts on time for all age groups.
The energy will stay high throughout the morning with a dance contest at 11 a.m. and indoor crafts beginning at 10:45 a.m. Attendees can also visit the dedicated photo booth for a meet-and-greet with the Easter Bunny all morning.
The Tween Twilight Egg Hunt will also take place this week, from 7‑8 p.m. on Thursday, at a new location, the Sycamore Park Community Center, 1051 Sycamore St. Hosted by the Farmington Recreation Center, the event is for older kids, ages 9‑12, and costs $8 per child, or $10 the day of the event.
