Farmington Announces City Councilor Vacancy

Councilor Sean Sharer tendered his resignation as City Councilor District 2 in a statement delivered to Mayor Nate Duckett dated Friday, December 15, 2023 to be effective immediately. Councilor Sharer has decided to move his physical residency outside of the district 2 boundaries.

In accordance with Farmington City Code, 3-12-1 (Vacancy on Governing Body), the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the City Council will appoint a replacement to fulfill the remainder of Councilor Sharer’s term, ending December 2025.

More information on the replacement process will be released next week outlining an application process if any individual residing in District 2 would like to be considered.
